Grampians BioQuest

September 23–October 8, 2017

Join Parks Victoria for the Spring BioQuest!

Parks across Victoria have amazing and unique wildlife sitting right under our nose. The Spring BioQuest challenges friends and families to observe and record animals and plants they see in selected parks and compete across the state for great prizes.

This activity uses the QuestaGame app, which is an award-winning game that believes in working (and playing) together to protect life on our planet for a sustainable future. Developed in Canberra, the game is now played in over a dozen countries around the world.

How to participate:

1. Download QuestaGame onto your phone, tablet or other smart device before you go to the park

2. Register online: go to and learn how the game works

3. Start your quest! Join park quests inside the app and go to a park to record your observations

Your sightings matter

The number one priority of the Junior Ranger Spring BioQuest’s is to have fun in nature. An added bonus is the observations you make are useful data for scientists and park managers. By capturing what you see through QuestaGame, you’re helping to grow the biodiversity map of Victoria giving everyone a better understanding of our environment and how it might be changing.

Not a wildlife expert? That’s OK!

No wildlife expertise is needed to participate in the Spring BioQuest. You can learn as you go! The minimum amount of information you need to submit to QuestaGame is a picture of what you’ve found and where you found it. That’s it! Your sighting then gets sent to a group of experts who will help identify what it is you’ve found and let you know.

If you are an expert, we have another great challenge for you. Enter the QuestaLab inside the app and see how many observations you can correctly identify.
