Winter Wonder Walks (1803 Collins First Settlement Site)

July 12, 2018

Back in 1803 the first European settlers arrived at Sullivan Bay, establishing a small settlement between the Eastern and Western Sisters. It was the site of Victorias first birth, wedding and baptism, and the first attempt at agriculture, grazing imported livestock, mail despatched and a store. Have you ever wondered where the phrase “you’ve got Buckley’s chance or none” comes from? Join a Ranger on a 2km guided walk through this historic site and along the nearby Sorrento foreshore to uncover these stories and many more. The walk will conclude with a kids scavenger hunt.
