Busy Bees

Become a Bee Detective and learn about the importance of these fascinating insects. Bees are pollinators and help plants grow, breed and produce food by transferring pollen between flowering plants, keeping the cycle of life turning. Create your own native flower beds to take home for the bees.

This activity is suitable for children aged 6-12, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over.

Please bring drinking water, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, wear enclosed shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. Untreated tank water is available for hand-washing but is not suitable for drinking. Please bring plenty of drinking water. Native bees are stingless but there may be European honeybees in the area. Please bring appropriate medication for allergies.

Toilet and picnic facilities are available, including free BBQs in the picnic shelter. Day visitors are welcome to use the facilities but bookings and fees apply for overnight stays. There is no mobile phone reception in the park, so please book before leaving home.
