Cultural Connection Around – A Campfire River Murray Reserve (Mildura Region)

There is nothing better than stories and damper around a campfire down by the river! Come along and meet a Traditional Owner, listen to their stories and learn about local Aboriginal Culture.

We will then mix and cook damper while learning about campfire safety. Please note, this activity uses cooking ingredients such as flour, butter, milk and honey.

This activity is suitable for children aged 6–12, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over.

Please bring drinking water, a hat, sunscreen, insect repellent, and wear enclosed shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.

Directions: meet at the Karadoc sandbar. Access via Kulkyne Way and Edey Road (unsealed but suitable for 2WD vehicles). Follow the Junior Ranger signs. Car parking and toilet facilities are available.

All Junior Ranger activities are managed in alignment with the Victorian government guidelines for coronavirus (COVID-19). Due to current outdoor group restrictions, it is essential that a maximum of one accompanying adult per child is permitted during each Junior Ranger activity. For up-to-date health information visit www.coronavirus.vic.gov.au

In the interest of public safety, if you or your child are unwell please cancel your booking and do not attend the activity on the day.

The Victorian government have mandated masks to be worn by adults whilst outdoors and indoors in public areas. It is recommended primary aged children wear a mask whilst outdoors and indoors in public areas.

By proceeding with the activity booking you agree to comply with all staff and volunteer instructions in order to ensure that these measures are met.
