Minibeast Discovery

Learn how to identify aquatic invertebrates found in the Yarra Ranges National Park. Discover what this can tell us about water quality and the aquatic ecosystem.

This activity is suitable for children aged 6-12, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

The terrain is relatively flat and the activity is suitable for all abilities.

Please bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent, and wear enclosed shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.

Please meet the ranger 5 minutes before scheduled at the Rosella Picnic Shelter, Badger Weir Picnic Ground in Badger Creek.

Activities may be rescheduled, changed or cancelled due to adverse weather or for emergency response.

Please note that we are running all of our Junior Ranger activities in strict accordance with DHHS guidelines to minimise the risk of Covid transmission. This includes restrictions on group sizes, as well as adherence to social distancing and hygiene related guidelines.  While these measures are aimed at minimising the risk of Covid transmission, you acknowledge that you are participating in these activities at your own risk.

By proceeding with your activity booking you agree to comply with all ranger instructions in order to ensure that these measures are met.
