Do you fancy yourself as a really good treasure hunter? Are you up for the challenge of Parks Victoria’s Nature Treasure Hunt? Come and join Parks Victoria rangers in the Castlemaine Diggings National Heritage Park and see how many natural treasures you can find!
This activity is suitable for children aged 6-12, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over.
Please bring water, sunscreen, insect repellent, and wear enclosed shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather. There are no toilets at this location, so please go before you come.
The treasure hunt follow a 1.5km unsealed path with gentle slopes in a natural bush setting. Unfortunately, it not suitable for prams or wheelchairs.

Please meet the rangers 10 minutes before the start time at the Eureka Reef car park, off Dingo Park Rd, Chewton. Dingo Park Rd is an unsealed gravel road suitable for two wheel drive vehicles. Caravans or large recreational vehicles may have difficulty at the turn off to the Eureka Reef car park. Please drive with care.
