Come and join us on an exciting discovery tour of the Yarra River aboard our small barge, the Barbie Boat! We will look at what makes the Yarra special, how animals and plants live alongside and in the river, and how our behaviour impacts their home.
The tour meeting point is at at Como Landing and will be marked by a banner. Como landing is near the continuation of Alexandra Avenue, along which 2-hour parking is available.
There is no toilet aboard the vessel. The nearest toilet is at the Old Geelong Football Club building across Alexandra Avenue at Como Park, or at the nearby Kanteen Cafe, which also serves coffee and lunch.
This activity is suitable for children aged 6-12, who must be accompanied by a parent or guardian aged 18 or over.
Shade is limited on the vessel, so please be prepared with sun protection. Bring water and sunscreen, and wear enclosed shoes and clothing appropriate for the weather.
